Thank you to the over 750 lovers of Humboldt who came out for the premiere of Love, Humboldt, 16 short films on Saturday at the Arcata Theatre Lounge. The response was far more than we had hoped for and we are grateful that so many people came out in support. We gave out 300 tickets and took RSVP’s for over 250, for a free event! Safety concerns and venue capacity limited the numbers of folks we could allow inside. We are so sorry to have been forced to turn away over 200 of you at the door. We are working on a second screening for you…stay tuned!

“Because of the clients we are working with, we were going to have to create videos like this on our own and the branding project came along just in time.  Every major company we are competing against has this type of marketing and millions and millions of dollars behind them to fund it. Because of this branding project and the help of the Small Business Development Center, my company is going to go from being a $100,000 a year business to generating $5 million plus in sales this year.  Hopefully this work will open the doors for many other people after us.”

In an effort to gather public displays of community pride, the Humboldt Film Commission sponsored a short film contest for all ages, to partner with the Love, Humboldt and Humboldt Made films premiere. 

Local beef producer Clint Victorine of Eel River Organic Beef is thrilled to be able showcase his company’s documentary at his Whole Foods launch in Los Angeles beginning Feb. 1.  The deal is the single largest branded meat product launch for a company not carrying the Whole Foods name.
