Film premiere draws hundreds, contest winners announced
ARCATA – Hundreds of people turned out on Feb. 13 for the Love, Humboldt and Humboldt Made short films premiere hosted by Humboldt County Economic Development Division at the Arcata Theatre Lounge.
“We were blown away by the support of the business community and the community at large for this project,” said Humboldt County Economic Development Coordinator Jacqueline Debets.

“Because of the clients we are working with, we were going to have to create videos like this on our own and the branding project came along just in time. Every major company we are competing against has this type of marketing and millions and millions of dollars behind them to fund it. Because of this branding project and the help of the Small Business Development Center, my company is going to go from being a $100,000 a year business to generating $5 million plus in sales this year. Hopefully this work will open the doors for many other people after us.”
Showcasing Humboldt in Los Angeles
Local beef producer Clint Victorine of Eel River Organic Beef is thrilled to be able showcase his company’s documentary at his Whole Foods launch in Los Angeles beginning Feb. 1. The deal is the single largest branded meat product launch for a company not carrying the Whole Foods name.
